I am trying to install the phpBB forum on my website from my control panel.
When I install it, it tells me that there was an error installing the forum but it doesn't tell me WHAT the error is.
If I remove the phpBB (due to a bad installation), the files it removes are not at all in the directory where the control panel prompt said it would install phpBB.
Can anyone help me with this?
Thanks, charis

G'day Charis... A few questions some are dumb but it's a start :-): 1. I assume you're using Fantastico? 2. What is the domain name and directory you're installing on? 3. Can you give me the exact parameters you use when you try the install?
if I understand you correctly, when you uninstall it, it's not removing all the files. 4. Have you tried deleting the directory all together? 5. What is giving you the error - Fantastico or PHPBB (when you go to the URL where you installed it)? 6. Are you creating the install directory before you install? If so, don't, Fantastico will create it for you - creating the directory before installation can sometimes cause a weird errior in Fantastico - ditto for the database.
Best...
Andrew
