How do I configure my DNS settings

I have made the following settings (my name domain is registered with yahoo):
* A and CName records - left as is
* MX records - set to "mail.praisegiver.org" (I suspect this is wrong)
* Nameservers - set to ns6.alphaone-tech.com and ns7.alphaone-tech.com

I can access my site, get to the cpanal and send email to external addresses. But I can not receive email, neither from external accounts or from the my own account sent back to myself. I have also waited several days for the changes to be updated to the net.

All of those things are accurate.  Have you created an email account in Cpanel or are you trying to use your user name @ domain name?  Your user name can not be used as a valid email address.

What programs are you using to attempt to send and receive email?  There should be an option there for SMTP requiring authentication.  It MUST be set to on.
