Hi, I want to know if I can use one of the website builders that comes with the value webhosting plan if i want to start a "online type community" utilizing geeklog or some type of blogging tool and also incorporate a forums section and a shopping cart? I would appreciate any info as i am ready to start building my site. thanks!! bob

Sitebuilder has an internal blog and shopping cart. You would have to create a page on your site that has an external HTML link that opens a new window to incorporate a forum area.
Basically, you would have to do the same thing for one of these features in any of the CMSes as well.

Alpha, thanks for the prompt reply. ok heres one more. can I mix formats to build the website ie: can I use the sitebuilder templates for some pages and then for instance frontpage for pages that require and external html link? or would i be better jsut using frontpage to build the whole thing and forget about the convenience of the webbuilder? I do have another site that i build using a webbuilder and it turned out good but I want more functionality with this new one like the blogging tools and forums. i do have some experience with frontpage and think i could figure out how to use it to build all the pages and incorporate the features i want. thanks!!! bob

IMHO I would just use Frontpage and incorporate stand alone apps. Or better still, use Mambo and the simpleboard module and the mamboshop module and then use an external blog.

alpah, sorry to be a PITA but i thought i would jsut use frontpage to make a under construction page until i look into the mambo suggestion. i built the page and followed all the tutorials to upload the first page and i installed the fp extensions in my c panel and then uploaded the page as instructed but the page does not show up when i click on the " check out your page" button after upload is complete. obviously i messed up somewhere. the page shows up in my file mgr but the actual url is just a blank page. any suggestions?? thanks bob
