I am new at this and confused at how I am supposed to make my Home page htm or html.

Php Nuke is self contained and you don't actually create any HTML pages.  You will use the administrator panel to set up any modules you install and then create announcements and articles which appear on the main page.

If you wish to change the look and feel of PhpNuke, check out our PhpNuke templates.  You can install a different template to get a different look and feel to your site.
