After the server change over we have lost the ability to upload a picture through Mambo frontend user interface. We are running fckeditor on a patched site. When trying to upload a picture we receive the following error in a pop up box.
XML request error: Internal Server Error (500)
Does anyone have any idea why we would be receiving this error message after the change of servers.

I just sent Larry an email asking him to check in here. His domain is fbcbolivar.org.
Jasper is checking in to the problem. I am going to test the Mambo we moved on an account we control, but I am not sure exactly what feature in the admin panel Larry is refering to.

One of these days I am going to get in sync with the work flow of your fine company. Here is the feature that we have lost. We are using fckeditor. In the fckeditor there is a button that allows you to upload a picture to the /images/stories location in mambo.
I can click the button and the window popsup just lick normal. There to insert or upload an image you first click the browse button. When we click the browse button that is when we are getting the pop up error window. I hope this helps. We have not changed anything that I am aware of. I feel that it is some type of permission error with php.
The path i refer to is on the left coloum of the pop up box. It never shows the sub directories of the /images folder.

Sorry about the change in support methods for MOVE related issues only, Larry. The techs in the support center have not a CLUE about the move nor any admin access to the new server yet. All support for issues related to the move has to come through here because we have a team working on this and every one does not have the same skills.
We did a comparison of the files in your Mambo (both on the old server and the new - they are identical) and 2 other Mambo installations.
Yours looks a little bit hosed. You have actual php programs for your editors in the mambots/editors/ directory. Including fckeditor.php & .xml, as well as none.php & none.xml, tinymce.php & tinymce.xml. As for the directory suddenly not showing up, it is possible a configuration got hosed OR for some reason it is attempting to use a different instance of fckeditor.php (since you have at least two in your directories)
I am going to recommend you uninstall fckeditor and reinstall it.

I will try that. I also wonder what editiors your clients are using with mambo and the image uploader? Will the simple editor that you are using with the form work in mambo?

Ok, I have fixed the redirect option in cpanel that did not seem to carry over - redirecting www.fbcbolivar.org to www.fbcbolivar.org/home . That is now not part of the solution. I also uninstalled and reinstalled a newer version of fckeditor and that did not seem to fix the problem. Do you have any other suggestions. Larry

So the redirect didn't carry over from the move? That should not be significant but its good to know, thanks! As for the error. Sit tight for right now. We are working on trying to track down your error, and one pleasantdale church is having with PhpWebsite. So far these are the only two reported, and we are hoping they are tied in to the same permission not being set on the new server. We hired in security experts to harden it and perhaps something they hardened is causing this. We have alerted them to the situation. As for managing images, I know one site was using gallery, and a site we have developed for a client is using the internal image manager in the admin panel. But maybe we are not trying to do the same thing with images you are. We upload them and just make them available for use in content. peace Wolf

The image manager in fckeditor and htmlarea3_xtd - which both have the feature allow a user to look for a picture on the server or to upload a pictue and then insert it into the documment. This is the feature that has gone out. I have also notice that we can not insert a link to another page as well. These are both buttons on the fckeditor and htmlarea3_xtd html editiors. This additional bit of information might be helpful.
Larry, I am sitting tight.

Thanks Larry every bit of info helps. With a lot of the popular PHP programs and their add ons everyone who has servers has to walk a line. Many features they use can be security hazards. For example we no longer support Invisionboard. If we see an invisionboard database on a site we are moving we are going to give them 30 days to let us migrate them to SMF. Because Invisionboard will NOT have any more releases that are public domain and the latest has big holes in it. The security team we hired has its own data center of internet servers, so they are familiar with a lot of the security features we need turned off in order for apps to run, but I am thinking that your problems are related to something to do with security and want to pursue the route with the security team before we do any more troubleshooting or try moving your site again. I apologize for the delay, but we expect to hear from them on your issue within the next 3-4 hrs. If it is NOT a security issue, then we will try a re-move of your site and troubleshoot from there. It could also be a missing RPM that those two mambots need, if so, i am clueless as to which ones. As a general rule we have NOT installed RPMs that we were not pretty sure were needed. peace Wolf

Yeah, sorry it is taking so long. Like I said - it would be a lot easier to track down if there were more consistancy to who is getting them and who isn't. If they don't have an answer by tomorrow around noon I am going to do the re-move of one of the other sites with the problem and see if that helps them. If it DOES, I will move yours again as well. I want to try them first because they are pretty new and not even 'released' and open for business. Plus they incorporate a lot of modules into mambo. peace Wolf

Hi Larry
Please check to see if this is fixed for you. One fix took care of the 3 other outstanding problems we had, and hoping it took care of yours as well. Without admin access to Mambo we couldn't check.
