Slow Access to Mambo Administration
« on: September 11, 2005, 02:34:25 PM »

I am having problems accessing the Mambo Administration site for my website.  I am able to login but it does not make a direct connection.  It can take up to 10 minutes until it is resolved.  Then i can work on it for several minutes and then it locks me out.  I have not added any new SW nor have I  modified my PC recently.  Prior to this time I could quickly access my Mambo admin area.  Any suggestions?

In addition, for some reason my global configuration is unwriteable.  How can I modify this?

There is no reason on this end why your access to your admin area would either be slower or causing you to be locked out.  If you have firewall software on your PC, try disabling that.  Also when it seems like you are locked out, go to your PC's DOS prompt and type ipconfig /flushdns.  That might help.  It could also be a problem with your ISP.

I went and made your config file writeable.  You will want to change that back when you are done making configuration changes.  You can do this with your FTP program or File Manager.  Change permissions back to 644 from 777.
