CHANGING NAVIGATION ON MENU BUTTONS
« on: September 27, 2005, 11:23:29 AM »

I've been online this morning with tech support trying to get this question answered. can the actual url of the navigation buttons that are made everytime you create a new page with the web builder be changed ? here's what i want to do. I installed phpBB and the only way i could figure out how to get my visitors to it was to place the link on my page that is named"bulletin board". is there a way to actually change the url of the bulletin board "button" so that when they click on it, the phpbb page will actually show on my web page that is named " Bulletin board" ? I thought about going into the cpanel directory and finding the bulletin board page and changing the file name, but wasnt sure that would actually do what i wanted to do. would appreciate any help or suggestions because i want to install the phpchat also and will want to do the same thing with it if possible. bob

Hi Bob

First off, you waste your time trying to use chat support for anything to do with online website builder - or any other 3rd party application for that matter.  Support for 3rd party applications can only come from the forums.

Try this:

First create a page using the name of the link that you want to appear on the menu (example: You want the link on your menu to say google, so you create a page called google). Next, go into database table manager and select the udt_search_and_replace table. Add an entry. In the Find field add the name of the page that you created. In the replace with feild add the following:
PageName
Next Save. Now the link on the menu will go to the page that you specified in the above href.

peace

Oh forgot to ask, are you talking about the database manager in the phpmyadmin area under the MySQL tab in the cpanel?

Chuckle - yeah I give our chat techs a big A for effort - they always try to help.

And yes I am referring to PhpMyAdmin.
