Because of the stricter security on our new server, BEFORE you report any error messages MAKE SURE you have the latest version of your software installed.
We've spent hours working on an error message problem that today I discovered was due to the user NOT updating to the latest version of PhpWebsite. Somehow this slipped through the cracks during the move since we are NOT moving sites that are still security risks.
If you are running applications YOU MUST be responsible and pay atttention to that application's support forums and these forums for security issues and updates. If you installed via fantastico or had US install the application you MUST open fantastico at least once a month to CHECK for upgrades.

Question: When updating phpwebsite through Fantastico, it tells me that if I have changed any files, themes, etc, these will be overwritten. What is the best procedure to use to update without data loss?
Thanks Wingman

You will need to check with PhpWebsite on that one. We are faced with the same issue right now on a Mambo site for a client that is heavily modified. To find the sites that support PhpWebsite - or other apps, please look at: http://www.alphaone-tech.com/client/app_support.htmPeace Wolf

As of today we still had 4 domains who did not report back that they had made the upgrades OR had planned the upgrades to secure their sites.
In these cases we had to perform auto-upgrades on the sites in order to complete the move from Alpha 2 to Phoenix. It was a choice between that and suspending the offending sites. 2 of the 4 domains had recent hacking attempts made at these vulnerabilities. We can not risk a successful hacking attempt during the final stages of this move.
If you had installed additional modules to PhpWebsite, Mambo, PhpBB or Php-Nuke (the 4 programs we just did auto upgrades on), your website may NOT function properly. We have backups taken prior to the upgrade but it will be your responsibility to upgrade and add on modules. Once you have done so, we will send you the backup databases for you to convert and restore.

I did not add mambo until after the move and after I had changed the domain server names where I registered the domain name.
Now nothing is working on the webpage. Tell me what I need to do .

Based on what customer service just relayed to me, you are probably bolfchurch.webs4christ.com. If I am wrong, I apologize. When you say nothing works, you are wrong. You installed Mambo in the root directory, as it advises you not to do. Mambo appears when you go to www.bolfchurch.webs4christ.com - as it should because of how you installed it. peace Wolf
