I'm running Mambo 4.5.2 and I want to replace the default favicon with a custom image. I've made the new image (16x16.ico) and placed it in the images folder where the default image is located. I changed the image name in the back-end global site settings in the mambo administration panel.
When I open the website on firefox, it flashes the new image in the address bar and then shows the default mambo favicon (irritating)
I then deleted the default MAmbo favicon image on the server through the file manager in my Cpanel.
I still get the flash of the new image and then the default mambo flavicon shows up. Perhaps pinky and the brain have really taken over the world and I can naver be loosed from this icon. Perhaps not.
Any suggestions - I see that you have successfully replaced the default image on your mambo application.
Thanks, Tom

Hey tomm,
I'm not sure what name you gave to your favicon image, but they should really be called 'favicon.ico" vs. some other name. Mambo defines the shortcut favicon image as being in the images directory. Browsers will then use this icon when displaying the page in your favorites or bookmarks, depending on the browser.
FireFox, however, will also display a favicon in the address bar (IE will not), but it picks up this favicon image from the root directory. I suspect you still have a favicon.ico image in the Mambo root, and it belongs to Mambo. Name your favicon image favicon.ico for standard's sake. Upload this image to both the root directory and the images directory. Also make sure you change the image name in the back-end global site settings in Mambol. You should then be all set.
Good luck and have a blessed day.
