I know this thread was started for SohoLaunch but I wanted to get a handle on the SSL issue. I understand that SSL creates a secure connection between the browsing guest and the shopping cart. By this I would assume each of my clients would have to have their own SSL certificate, or could they use a Shared SSL (which I think I read somewhere).
I'm just not clear on the setup of SSL and that process. Do I purchase the SSL cert from W4C or from a 3rd party? I have seen where if you use osCommerce and select Paypal as the payment method, it takes the customer to the paypal server to process payment. Am I correct in saying that a SSL cert. is not needed in this case. I could see the need for it for offline credit card processing because of the stored credit card info.
Could someone fill me in on how to get started?

You can't use a shared SSL certificate since those are restricted to using the shared IP and we don't have one. They cost an arm and a leg. Each domain that needs a SSL also needs a dedicated IP address. If you need to purchase a SSL & dedicated IP address, you can do so via links from within the new CPanel. Or for resellers, since you 'own' your account and all your customer's accounts, you can't get our customized CPanel XP, contact customer_service@alphaone-tech.com and they will send you a link. If all you are doing is linking out to paypal, then no, a SSL is not required. peace Wolf
