I am a real greenhorn!  I am creating a website for a small support group.  Most of the pages on the site will require membership so I am using the secure user with SoHoLaunch.  I understand and have set up the log in stuff, but I am wondering  about how they log OUT when they are done.  I can't find anything on this anywhere.  Any help would be appreciated!

Another Q from a newbie -- I have LOVED the tutorials on the various aspects of SoHoLaunch, but I am extremely frustrated with the lack of detailed help in answering specific questions.  I know it has to be possible to change things like the little picture in the corner of the website templates, or to upload a website template from Alpha-One's web resources area.  But I can't find out HOW to do either one.  I upload the template in the manage template section and get nothing -- I can see the files are there but SoHo can't use them as templates.  If there are resources somewhere on the web that would help answer some of these questions as well as others, I'd sure appreciate hearing about them.

I am working on educating myself, and have learned a LOT, but I have a LONG ways to go.  So any help would be greatly appreciated!

We do not have any soholaunch templates in our resources area, but you should be able to find some on the web by googling them.

I am not  sure how you set up logging out - I think they are automatically logged out when they leave the site.  There are no log out features that i am aware of.

As for changing the image, check the CSS code of the template and find out the name and size of the image being called.  Simply rename that and upload a similarly sized image named as it is called in the CSS

So, are the Template Express offerings just html templates that will not work with Soholaunch?

I set some up for a site, but used Dreamweaver.

My son is trying to incorporate with Soholaunch...and is having some difficulty customizing the way he wants...

He tried to upload the Templates Express and thought he got it, however when he went to sohoadmin and tried to upload the template, he got the following error:

Error: Unable to save template Files...
Possible Solution: chmod the /sohoadmin/program/modules/site_templates/pages directory to 777

I checked the CHMOD and that is not the problem.   Does it have something to do with the servier changes after the hack attack?    Please advise...



Which brings us to the obvious question...how can we resellers offer something that is easy, and looks good.  While SA fits the easy part, it seems to be limited in functionality and look and feel (templates).  I've seen some templates online, but have not looked to hard for them yet.  If anyone knows of any free templates that work with SA...let me know...

Two different questions here.

Templates Express has nothing to do with Soho and wont work with Soho.  I am not aware of free templates out there, but I know there are some inexpensive ones that I have seen.

Soho has killer functionality, but you are right, since there is a lack of free templates, that is limiting.

Regarding the error message, if you want to change any template files etc you will need to CHMOD that directory & maybe others.  Just remember to CHMOD them back or you are leaving a security hole in your site.
