Topic: Removing Forwarded Emails (Read 1486 times)

Many of our members use the mailbox that we host as a secondary Email address and have set the mailbox up as a forwarder only (they never logon to see Email). How do we delete the old Emails in the mailboxes? Setting the value for days on server doesn't seem to affect them. What they want is to have the Emails forwarded and deleted without any additional action.

The way to do this is NOT to create an email box on your account. Create a forwarder only.
If you have already created the mailbox, just delete it and leave the forwarder in place.
Thanks

Well, we did that. Trouble is that it doesn't seem to forward ALL Emails. A number of them (~20%) bounce back to the sender and are not forwarded. If the auto-forwarder were reliable in the sense that everything got forwarded without an account that would be a trick we could use. I think the problem is some Email senders actually check for a real live account on the server (most don't). When they check for a real account, the Email is not forwarded.

The ones that send a bounce notice - do they actually get delivered anyway?
