Php Nuke - Placing of Fles and Folders
« on: December 04, 2004, 03:42:39 AM »

I have a question.
Where do I place the php files and folders for the phpnuke 7.2 program that I have.
Is it in the public html folder in ftp?

I have another website that is run by php and I placed them in the wrong folder in the beginning and it took forever to get it straightened out.
Thanks for the help.

You would create a directory UNDER public_html to put the files in.  But I would NOT recommend using 7.2 since 7.4 is the current version.  You also need to make sure that all security patches are kept up to date for phpnuke.  We recently had a user who did NOT do that and they were hacked.  10,000 sp^m messages were sent out in a 2 day period by the hacker and the data center shut down their account.  They now have to pay us for the charges incurred by the data center staff in tracking down the culprit.

peace
