I have a client who is interested in streaming videos on his site. These will be larger files than small clips. One is 17 MB. Format is WMV -
I am concerned about eating up bandwidth and disc space - do you have any recommendations or video hosting deals?
also- would it be of any value to convert files to Flash Format to avoid plugin problems?
There seems to be a ka-billion offers of service and I am a newbie to this type of thing. Thanks for any info.
Be Blessed, Tom Marxen

Video hosting is no big deal - the issue comes with file sizes. With large files the issue is not bandwidth but the CPU and RAM drain every time they are accessed. We have tons of available bandwidth on all of our servers, but with multiple accesses of a large file you may run into a problem with over using server resources. There is no way to tell until the site would go live with it.
Recently one of our customers put up a HUGE podcast which got a lot of attention. He was given the choice of taking it down or moving to a semi-dedicated server because it was drawing over 11% of available CPU and RAM.
